Located a short drive from the city centre of Helsinki, the spectacular building, Haltia, is the Finnish Nature Centre. Inspired by the 19th century Finnish national epic poem Kalevala, its is the first all-wooden public building in Finland.
The design incorporates the latest in ecological solutions, being heated and cooled with energy derived from the sun and the earth.
The main auditorium, Haltia Hall, seats 200 and boasts modern lighting, video, and sound technique and looks stunning with floor-to-ceiling in fresh wood. Part of the front wall of the auditorium can be opened up to give a view of the stunning scenery of the forests and lakes beyond, providing a spectacular backdrop for musical performance.
Two break-out rooms with windows to the forest allow for our program of educational sessions.
Lunch is included as part of the daytime program, as well as dinner prior to the evening concert, plus there is a licensed bar with an outdoor terrace with forest views.
